Macon, Georgia Honors the Life and Legacy of Otis Redding

40th Anniversary Commemorative Events in Sept. 2007

Forty years after his untimely passing, Otis Redding's enduring music remains a powerful force in popular culture. Macon, Georgia remembers the hometown hero in a series of events, highlighted by a musical tribute concert and a major year-long exhibition.

The Georgia Music Hall of Fame presents singer/songwriters from throughout the state, in the round and in honor of the creative spirit of Otis Redding.

Georgia Music Hall of Fame

In collaboration with The Big "O" Youth Educational Dream Foundation, the Georgia Music Hall of Fame presents a week-long camp for singers and songwriters ages 13-17. The program will include Georgia music history, from soul to hip-hop, a music business overview, vocal coaching and songwriting fundamentals.

Georgia Music Hall of Fame

On the evening before Otis Redding: I've Got Dreams to Remember closes, the Georgia Music Hall of Fame offers a final look at the exhibition with guided tours, guest speakers and intimate live music performances. Regular admission applies; free for members.
