2/20/08: GA Music Hall of Fame's Spring 2008 Live @ Five Series Joins First Friday Activities The Spring 2008 run of Live @ Five, the Georgia Music Hall of Fame's signature concert series, joins the many activities surrounding First Friday in downtown Macon. The Category 1 Award (over $100,000) recognized the Macon-based museum "for excellence in collaboration and creativity in portraying the visionary spirit of a Georgia native son." download full press release 12/10/07: Memorial Reception to Recognize 40th Anniversary of Otis Redding’s Passing (Macon, GA) – On Dec. 10, 2007, the Georgia Music Hall of Fame will host a memorial reception in honor of Otis Redding, who died on Dec. 10, 1967. The two day event features a special traveling Guitar Roadshow, a meet-and-greet with Gretsch Enterprise president Fred Gretsch and a gallery of Georgia music vendors and collectors. Regular museum admission applies. A visit to the museum's main exhibit hall is included in the event price.

Nationally Syndicated Radio Show To Broadcast Live From Georgia Music Hall of Fame
(Macon, Ga.) The Georgia Music Hall of Fame and Power 107.1 FM will host a live broadcast of the nationally syndicated Russ Parr Morning Show on August 13, 2007. As part of the 7th Annual Russ Parr Back to School Tour, the "Russ Bus" will be on-site from 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. The live show will feature appearances and performances by Soulja Boy, Cupid, B5, Al Fatz, Alliance, Young Berg, Eric Darnell and Kin Folks. During the morning broadcast, the Georgia Music Hall of Fame will open doors to the public at 7 a.m. and offer a $5 early bird special until 10 a.m.
A former stand-up comedian with over 20 years experience in the entertainment and recording industry, Parr has sold millions of pop music parody albums and appeared in numerous commercials and films. Now the host of one of the nations highest rated radio morning shows, Parr is heard across the nation in over 30 cities including Washington DC, Detroit, Richmond, Raliegh, Shreveport, Indianapolis and Cincinnati.
Macon's new Power 107.1 is a young, urban contemporary formatted station. Presents 29th Annual Georgia Music Hall of Fame Awards on Sept 8 The Georgia Music Hall of Fame will induct R&B performer Usher, Southern rock group Lynyrd Skynyrd, songwriter Mylon LeFevre, Jazz artist Freddy Cole and studio pioneer Babs Richardson on Saturday, September 8, 2007 during the 29th Annual Georgia Music Hall of Fame Awards Show. Singer/songwriter Johnta Austin will also receive the 2007 Bill Lowery Horizon Award which recognizes "up and coming" talent with significant ties to the State of Georgia. The ceremony will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center at 6:30 p.m. in the Thomas B.
