Live at Five at the Cox Capitol Theatre Every Tuesday in April, plus May 1 & 8
The signature happy hour concert series featuring Georgia musicians from around the state is held in Macon's restored Cox Capitol Theatre. Patrons enjoy live music in a smoke-free environment, $3 for members, $5 for general public and special rates for children. Cox Communications tapes the performances for broadcast.

Tues., April 3: Sean Costello This Atlantan has been playing a mean blues guitar and singing since he was a kid. At 14, Costello won the Memphis Blues Society talent award and three years later, he released his first album, Call the Cops. Costello’s 2005 self-titled release mixes flavors of funk, soul and rock with his Chicago Blues sound and features guest appearances from Levon Helm of The Band, Willie Weeks and the Conan O’Brien horn section. Tues., May 1: Chris Hicks and PJ Morton Band Macon’s own Chris Hicks takes time off from his gig with Marshall Tucker Band to feature his own band and songs from a soon-to-be-released album steeped in Southern soul, rock and funk.
PJ Morton, the son of Gospel legend Bishop Paul S. Morton, refers to his genre-bending musical style as “soulful pop.” He has written songs for India.Arie, co-written with Jermaine Dupri for artists like Jagged Edge and Monica, and toured with Erykah Badu. Purchase Tickets
Tuesday, May 8: Caroline Herring Considered one of the most unique voices of Americana music today, Caroline Herring has been compared vocally and lyrically to Lucinda Williams and Nanci Griffith. In her new home of Atlanta, Herring has made a name for herself playing clubs like Eddie’s Attic and the Variety Playhouse.
